First Mix

First Mix is a composition that I created in an Intro to Music Technology class at the University of Central Florida.   

The piece's name is extremely literal: I called it First Mix because it is, indeed, the first piece that I created through electronic mixing!   

Created in Ableton Live, I wanted the music to feel like something that you could bop your head to and really feel the beat. I was also inspired by Lo-Fi and EDM music. I wanted the music to feel like something that you would hear at a club, but could also be something that could be put on in the background. That's why I drew on some elements of Lo-Fi music at the beginning and end of the piece, but the middle of the piece resembles EDM.
